Vietnam to increase compensation in kind for employees working in hazardous or toxic working conditions

This is a highlight in Circular 24/2022/TT-BLDTBXH issued on 30 November 2022, stipulating the compensation in kind for employees working in hazardous or toxic working conditions. Accordingly, the level of compensation in kind is calculated on a daily basis and has the monetary value as follows:

– Level 1: 13,000 VND (3,000 VND increased);

– Level 2: 20,000 VND (5,000 VND increased);

– Level 3: 26,000 VND (6,000 VND increased);

– Level 4: 32,000 VND (7,000 VND increased).

For employees eligible for the above compensation, the specific compensation for each profession or job are specified in Appendix I of Circular 24/2022/TT-BLDTBXH and applied according to the corresponding working time as follows:

– If working more than 50% of normal working hours of a working day, employees are to be entitled to full compensation rate.

– If working under 50% of normal working hours of a working day, employees are to be entitled to half compensation rate.

– If working overtime, the compensation in kind will be increased according to actual overtime working hours and the above principles.

Circular 24/2022/TT-BLDTBXH come into effect as of 1 March 2023 and replaces Circular 25/2013/TT-BLDTBXH dated 18 October 2013.
